I'm lovin' this country, but I have become an insomniac that, when finally struck by sleep, has the most bizarre, all-over-the-map dreams. This morning (mainly the only time i get sleep) I had an incredibly realistic dream that i awoke at home, in Canada and was walking around doing everyday things. That was until it hit me that i was in Canada (in my dream that is) and i attempted to varify with someone if i had recently returned from Ghana and if so, when. They responded with "Come on Sophia, Ghana was a long time ago, you've been back for a while now." And i guess i finally got to see my attachment to this country, i felt very sad tht i wasnt there anymore and felt also that i hadnt finished, i wasnt done. Once i awoke i was actually relieved to be staring up at my mosquito net on the near-naked bed under our good old rickitty fan. I must say that that's a first.

Hi there Sweet Sophia
It has seemed to be a huge long time since you left for Africa and I have been thinking about you lots and hoping life is going reasonably well for you. I am so releived to read your absolutely super accounts through your diary. I am truly amazed (and in awe) of your ability with the computer!It was that Super Mom of yours that forwarded your material to me and I'm really glad that she did so.
It's winter time here in Manitoba. We've had one big (2 foot) snowfall but most of it has either been cleared away, or melted. It's cold, though - below freezing.
Today is a big day in your home town- Grey cup day with Edmonton playing against Montreal in beautiful BC Stadium. Next year the game is here in Winnipeg.
Sophia, we love you, and we are so proud of what you are doing there. Your adventures remind me a lot of those that your Mom had when she was just a bit younger than you.
